Being in that position gives us unique abilities as well as unique responsibilities. Our giftings and the strengths come from our position in Christ. "Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has annointed us is God, who also has sealed us has given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee." 1 Corinthians 1:21-22. Dear friend, your gifts are as individualized as the prints on the ends of your fingers or the beautiful splashes of color in your eyes. It is imperative that we search our hearts to find that which make our position so vital in the kingdom of God. God does not create unimportant people for insignificant purpose. "[God] who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began," 2 Timothy 1:91
John the Baptist made no apologies for the authority he had been given. He was the voice who was sent to proclaim the coming of the Christ. And that voice was loud and clear and did not stutter. He also knew where he stood. He refused to take any of the limelight from Christ saying He was not even worthy to untie His sandles. But that in no way made him shy away from the enomity of the task he had been given to prepare the people for the long awaited Messiah. Our confidence comes from how God has defind us and by the giftings He has given. We all have have a task, a purpose, which we are to fulfill by using the skills we receive from Christ. Our giftings, they are significant, however they are not to be boasted.
Confidently use the gifts God has given you to intentionally impact the kingdom. That is what you were called to do! I have a dear sweet sister who, whenever I tell her she is great she is very quick to remind me, "No, Jesus is," with a smile of gratitude not for the compliment I have just given her but for the truth of her statement. Make no apologies for the tasks you have been given. Accomplish them with humility and mercy only for the glory of the King and remember, God did not create you for insignificance. Learn your position and embrace it.
